I was really very saddened to hear that Dr. Alatis had died. He was indeed the last of the great ones. I have so many fond memories of my Georgetown years with him at the helm of the school. He was such a vibrant and supportive professor and mentor to all of us in linguistics. He had a great sense of humor and a love for languages and linguistics.
I wish you and your family a very hearty hug and my best wishes. God Bless us all.
I am sure that he and dad will have a lot of catching up to do in heaven. May they both watch over us and guide us.
